Director and Founder
Gary A. Deutchman, D.C.
Dr. Deutchman founded the Scoliosis Care Foundation, an IRC 501(3)(c)
non-profit organization, in 2001.
Dr. Deutchman has been a chiropractor since 1986 and has run his
own private practice since 1987. Dr. Deutchman initiated and went
on to manage volunteer chiropractic care programs for treating drug
addicted newborns at Hale House in Harlem, men and women with Aids
at the GMHC (Gay Mens Health Crisis) and priests and nuns
of the Fratenite de Notre Dame, a French missionary group that maintains
orphanages and soup kitchens around the world. He has also advised
many chiropractors around the country about establishing local volunteer
chiropractic care programs.
Among the articles Dr. Deutchman has written is "Helping In
Time Of Need: A Chiropractors Diary," which appeared
in the December 2001 issue of Todays Chiropractic, about his
experiences providing chiropractic care at Ground Zero for the World
Trade Center rescue workers.
Dr. Deutchman was vice president of the New York Chiropractic Council
of Manhattan from 1990 to 1992 and served as its president from
1992 to 1994.
Richard Nunziata, D.C., C.C.S.P.
Dr. Nunziata has been a chiropractor since 1984 and has run his
own private practice since 1986. The focus of his work is on acute
and chronic pain syndromes, ranging from accidents and arthritis
to sport injuries. Dr. Nunziata was a treating chiropractor for
the N.Y.C. marathon from 1984 to 1997. He is a referring panel doctor
for the Alvin Ailey Dance School and Columbia University. He worked
with the Sheepshead Bay H.S. football team from 1990-1994. He has
been working with Columbia University team athletes since 1997.
Dr. Nunziata served as a volunteer with the Red Cross treating emergency
workers at Ground Zero.

Dr. Lamantia is currently enrolled in a
MS/PhD program in Neuropsychology
Rehabilitation. His research is focusing
on creating new methods to identify children who
are at higher risks for developing scoliosis, as
well as investigating how the brain is involved
in the disease. He is a Professional
Member of the Vestibular Disorder Association and the New
York Chiropractic Council.
Wael F. Kaawach , M.D.
Dr. Wael F. Kaawach is an Orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in joint and general spine surgery. He is an Instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery in Harvard Medical School. Practicing in Boston, Dr. Kaawach is affiliated with the VA Boston Healthcare System and with Brigham and Womens Hospital, and is a member of the medical staff for the Boston Ballet. Dr. Kaawach also serves on the Boston VA HealthCare System Operating Rooms Committee and previously served on the Core Curriculum Committee of the Harvard Orthopaedic Program.
Dr. Kaawachs graduate medical education at Harvard includes training in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program which includes training at Bostons Children Hospital, an Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship in Orthopaedic Oncology and Joint Reconstruction at Brigham and Womens Hospital, and serving as a resident in general surgery at Brigham and Womens Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Kaawach holds an M.B.A. in Business Administration
George E. Resnick, D.C., C.C.S.P., R.E.D.T., D.A.C.N.B.,
Dr. Resnick maintains a consultant practice, with specialty and focus on advanced neurophysiological diagnosis and neurorehabilitative treatment in Plainview, Long Island, New York. Dr. Resnick has over 700 hours of Graduate School level training in Clinical Neurology and Electroneurodiagnosis, and applies a brain based application to patient care.
George J. Muhs, D.C., C.C.N., R.E.D.T., D.A.C.N.B.
George Muhs, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, is also a board certified Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (D.A.C.N.B.) and a Certified Clinical Nutritionist (C.C.N.).
Since 1998, Dr. Muhs has served at the University of Bridgeport as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences, supervising the clinical internships of fourth year students of the College of Chiropractic. In 1999, he coauthored a paper regarding the application of electro-diagnostic techniques to investigate the effects of chiropractic manipulation on the autonomic nervous system.
